Gifts for Teachers

Teachers are very important in our lives. They teach us knowledge and tell us how to be a good person. And what will you give to you teachers when the Teachers` Day comes? This article will give you some good ideas:

     1. Every first year teacher needs a copy of the book First Days of School: How to Be an Effective Teacher. The husband and wife team of Harry K. Wong and Rosemary T. Wong wrote this practical book. These authors have thought of everything the first year teacher might be concerned about and have organized solutions into a helpful guide. It’s a must read for all teachers; the first year teacher will continue to use it a resource year after year.

     2. Any teacher you talk with will tell you that they wish they had recorded more of their adventures during their career. The first year teacher on your list needs a lined journal in which to record funny anecdotes, struggles and victories, or notes of reflection.

     3. Most first year teachers are surprised by the amount of meetings, staff developments, parent conferences, etc. that take place throughout the year. The first year teacher needs a calendar or a PDA to keep track of all of their commitments.

     4. Late nights and early mornings are synonymous with a first year teacher’s life. Between lesson planning, building relationships with students and parents, and grading papers, first year teachers burn the candle at both ends. The first year teacher on your list needs gift cards to coffee shops so that they may stay awake throughout the year.

     5. Although teachers can write off up to $250 on classroom supply expenses throughout the year, any first year teacher will tell you they spent at least double that amount. Leaving from childhood

I am already 20 years old,so I can not enjoy the Children`s Day.But I am a little sad,I still think that I am a child.Maybe everyone wants to be young, but it is not realistic. We are going to be old.

Tough ,I have to go for class on Children`s Day.I still do somthing special to spend the day.I buy myself some candies, watch some lovely videos.I do it myself, not with others.

Children’s Day was first celebrated worldwide in October 1955, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva. The idea of a Universal Children’s Day was mooted by Rubab Mansoor grade 8 and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954. Moazzem and Abass helped and contributed a lot in this. Universal Children’s Day takes place on November 20 annually. First proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954, it was established to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote mutual exchange and understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world’s children. It was also chosen as the day to celebrate childhood.

November 20 is also the anniversary of the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959. The Convention on the Rights of the Child was then signed on the same day in 1989, which has since been ratified by 191 states. Read more »

Mother`s Love

I write an article about father`s love.Well, the love of mother is different from that of father`s.I remember that my father often did something rude to me,for example ,my scores are low.But my mother would encourge me that I would get more if I worked hard.

     Mother`s Day.

The history:The history of Mother’s Day is centuries old and goes back to the times of ancient Greeks, who held festivities to honor Rhea, the mother of the gods. The early Christians celebrated the Mother’s festival on the fourth Sunday of Lent to honor Mary, the mother of Christ. Interestingly, later on a religious order stretched the holiday to include all mothers, and named it as the Mothering Sunday. The English colonists settled in America discontinued the tradition of Mothering Sunday because of lack of time. In 1872 Julia Ward Howe organized a day for mothers dedicated to peace. It is a landmark in the history of Mother’s Day.

In 1907, Anna M. Jarvis (1864-1948), a Philadelphia schoolteacher, began a movement to set up a national Mother’s Day in honor of her mother, Ann Maria Reeves Jarvis. She solicited the help of hundreds of legislators and prominent businessmen to create a special day to honor mothers. The first Mother’s Day observance was a church service honoring Anna’s mother. Anna handed out her mother’s favorite flowers, the white incarnations, on the occasion as they represent sweetness, purity, and patience. Anna’s hard work finally paid off in the year 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as a national holiday in honor of mothers. Read more »
